the field - from here we go sublime

Um dos grandes lançamentos deste ano da Kompakt. O primeiro trabalho do sueco Axel Willner aka The Field. Este vinil apresenta "three DJ-friendly tracks from the debut album from The Field. The blissful, addictive, transformative sounds on From Here We Go Sublime absolutely speak for themselves. Samples abound throughout, immediately giving you a feeling of warmth and familiarity on the first listen that you can't quite grasp... like a warm glove on a cold winter's day. The Field's music literally breathes: harmonious drones mingle with the dizzying swell and reversed motion of bass drums and euphony. There is a ceaseless, cyclical signature familiar to all his music, but that's the most exciting part of The Field -- the beautiful dynamic of beats and space that exists in endlessness."(ForcedExposure.com)

glimpse - 100% black

Quem diz que o techno não pode ser dançado?
"Glimpse finishes the black series again with tracks of contrasting styles. The title track 'Caught On Train' is a direct strike at the dancefloor that has been a highlight in their recent live sets. Heavy analog melodic techno that tips its hat towards those classic chord days of old. Although slightly nostalgic, and made with the help of a certain Yamaha DX7, this track's intensity and ability to move the floor made it an immediate inclusion on the EP. 'It's The Little Things' moves the EP into our home listening. This track is quite self-explanatory and is more of an emotive vocal duet that encapsulates the struggle and conflict that we all go through at some stage in relationships. Produced incorporating live guitar and the beautiful voice of Patricia Wade, this track seems like a fitting end to the series. We hope you've enjoyed at least a part of it."(Forcedexposure.com)

miwon - brother mole (john tejada remix)

O que me chamou a atenção para este vinil foi o facto de ter uma remistura de John Tejada, um artista que tenho apreciado muito. Mas "Brother Mole" é "a blueprint of modern synth-pop - a rigid bassdrum, lush chords and catchy vocals, very definate fell-good vibes surrounded by little furry creatures and muchfluff to boot. The twelve includes a crunchy remix from John Tejada (this track has already been caned in London, Andrew Weatherhall has just licensed it for his much anticipated forthcoming Fabric mix cd!), while flipside killer ”Spiralize“ shows Miwon’s love for more dirty, rugged sounds while his dreamy melodies do the rest. ”Rain Or Shine“, the closing track, is a lullaby for lonely laptops. Lovely stuff, buy!"(Boomkat.com)
Já agora Miwon é Hendrik Krötz, um activo membro da música electrónica berlinense, conhecido no início pelas suas "laptop battles" na cidade.

deadbeat - version immersion

Dub. Claustrofóbico. Denso. Perfeitamente dançável. A Boomkat explica melhor.
"Deadbeat's Scott Monteith seems to have gotten his obsession with fuzzed-out Berlin-style dubism out of his system just as it's seen a new surge of activity emanating from many of its Basic-Channel affiliated protagonists. "Version Immersion" is by far and away the least claustraphobic and dub immersed release across his catalogue, instead opting for a more open configuration taking in House signatures more commonly associated with Cologne than with the smoked-out producers hanging out at Berlin's Hardwax listening to old Black Art 7"s. Rotating around a dense snap-clap motif, there's still a dancehall spirit guiding these tracks, its just harder to recognise under layers of glitter and percussive makeup. The result is a bit of a revalation, and a welcome change from an artist who was begining to go over familiar territory on his last couple of releases. Good twelve."

lindstrom - monsteer (riton remix)

"Some people just can’t be rushed for love or money. Like Norwegian ‘space disco’ pioneer Lindstrøm, who embarked on this 12” battle with groundbreaking British techno dude Riton a year ago, with a fabulous split vinyl comprising ‘Monsteer’ by Lindstrøm on one side and ‘Young Girl’ by Riton on the other. Seconds out (or months, more like) and Round Two was shaping up to be a belter. Riton filed a stormer of a remix of ‘Monsteer’, and then Lindstrøm… Well, they’re still waiting for Lindstrøm’s contribution. He’s clearly a busy guy – but in the meantime Battle has quite sensibly decided to go ahead and release the ‘Monsteer’ remix on its own anyway – while it’s still hot.
The fluffy, spaced-out grooves of the original have been fortified with a chrome-plated, super-slick treatment from Riton, whose current output – particularly in the remix field – is pretty much unstoppable. The result is a blissful midpoint between ‘I Feel Space’, Superpitcher and Ellen Allien’s more dancefloor-led moments, with an emphasis on lush, sugar-coated synth. I’ll eagerly await the final arrival of Lindstrøm’s answer, which could still knock the socks of this, but meanwhile excellent remix, perfect for a mid-set mood-lifter, more than justifies the whole project on its own."(Residentadvisor.net)
